My motivations for creating this site can be found in my first blog post and on my about page. I am also making various publications of mine available for download here.

In the coming months, please check back. I will start slowly but accelerate postings that make sociology relevant again to real world problems. Ironically, activist sociology driven by ideology and anger at certain conditions is much less relevant than science, which takes hard work to understand what can, and cannot, be accomplished given the fundamental nature of the social world. To push for utopias, for what is not possible, is to be as irrelevant and counter-productive as I think a scholar can be.
